Moving Blankets

Cargo trailers are wonderful, but even these tools have their limits. The walls, ceiling, and deck of your trailer are hard, rigid, and potentially even sharp. If you’re moving fragile or sensitive items with it, potholes, speed bumps, hard turns, and accidents are a possibility, and any of them can ruin delicate cargo.

A moving blanket, also known as a packing blanket or a moving pad, can help you out. They’re thick sheets of durable, fairly soft cloth that allow you to add a soft outer layer to fragile items. They can prevent dents, scratches, and other damage that might occur on the way, protecting both the item and the items around them—and even protecting your trailer!

E-Track Ratchet Straps

Moving blankets can help minimize whatever damage occurs from moving cargo, but it might be better to stop the cargo from moving altogether. Properly securing your cargo is one of the most important parts of hauling it, and your best bet for that is with an E-Track ratchet strap.

These heavy-duty and resilient straps can be attached to the ceiling, deck, or walls of your trailer to hold cargo in place. They’re called ratchet straps because there’s a handle on the strap that you can ratchet to tighten the entire thing. That makes sure the strap is as secure as possible, and secures your cargo as well.

Cargo Nets

If you’ve got tall stacks of cargo or a few large, bulky items, unfortunately, a few ratchet straps won’t do. You’d need a lot of them in a sort of criss-cross pattern to even make a difference, and at that point you might as well just get a cargo net.

These accessories are pretty much what they sound like. It’s a net of straps that you can secure to the corners of your cargo space, creating a wall that has a bit of give without letting your cargo go tumbling around.
