Tips for Loading Your Car Hauler Safely
If you’ve recently purchased a car hauler and are planning your debut trip, you've arrived at the right place. APC Trailers is your local car hauler dealership in Tucson, AZ, and we understand that these heavy-duty machines can be dangerous on the road if they are not loaded properly. This can cause damage to your car hauler and the vehicle you are hauling and jeopardize the safety of other motorists. To avoid this, learn to load your machinery like a pro, and for more information, refer to our guide!
Position Your Car Hauler
First, you’ll want to head to the loading area and choose a flat and even surface, then position your car hauler correctly. You'll want to make the ramp face the ground and chock your wheels to prevent them from moving during loading.
Drive Your Vehicle onto Your Trailer
Next, you’ll want to drive your vehicle slowly up the ramp and onto your trailer. Don’t accelerate, but move up gradually, and once your car is in position, set the parking brake in neutral to prevent it from moving during transit.
Secure Your Vehicle
At this point, secure your vehicle tightly to your car hauler. You can use ratchet straps or chains to attach one end of the strap to an anchor point on the front of your vehicle and the other end to a point on the front of your car hauler. Repeat the process for the rear of your vehicle and use extra chains to hold your vehicle in place. This way, you’ll prepare your towing setup for the road like a pro.
Although loading a car hauler can be daunting initially, you can get it right with some practice. If you have more questions, contact APC Trailers and let our friendly team address them. We can share more information to help you prepare for the transit and upgrade your machinery if required. We are in Tucson, AZ, and are happy to welcome our patrons from Phoenix and Casa Grande!
